News: Family to continue calls for compulsory cycle helmet law

The family of a teenager, who suffered brain damage in a bicycle accident, because he didn't wear a helmet, supports a law to wear this accessory when you ride a bike. This family, after this event, set up a new cycling foundation and online petition.

However, the government hasn't plans to accept this law, although there is a request. Besides, the Department for transport doesn't agree with this law, because it will be difficult to comply and could have a negative effect on cycling.

In my opinion, I see good that people to do these petitions, but it's true that we just put prevention at things when they are gone; we should be more careful from the beginning.
